A psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse with specialized training in mental health who can assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric conditions across the lifespan, prescribe and manage medications, provide therapy, and develop individualized treatment plans, often working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive mental health care.
